Aspen is one of the liveliest towns in Colorado and also the home of Aspen ski resort. A great amalgamation of culture and sport makes Aspen a wonderful vacation destination.
Perhaps the most excellent way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Aspen is through hiking. There are various great hiking trails, which explore the high mountains, lakes, rivers and valleys of Colorado. Trek or hike for a picnic and come back on time to spend the night in the town. You can also choose to spend your days on a back packing trip via Aspen’s rocky wilderness hiking.

Aspens Hiking Trails
Hunter Creek Tour: Experience the wonderful sights of Elk Mountains along the town of Aspen while meandering via the groves of Aspen and the rich colorful fields. This hike starts in Aspen and ends in the plane valley of the Hunter Creek.
Difficult Creek Tour: Named after the difficult tour, this trail of forest provides a gradual view and uphill of Aspen as well as the valley. After gradually climbing a mile, the track joins with a running creek. Hiking along this rivulet is certainly one of the main highlights of the tour.
Crater Lake tour: This trek starts at the attractive maroon lake and mounts gradually to the Carter Lake. The mind-blowing view of 14000 foot Maroon Bells is a rewarding experience all along the way. Through the trail, you can learn about the composition of the Bells, the local vegetation and the family of beavers that stay in the lake.
Snowmass creek tour: The half-day hike begins close to the base of Campground ski region at the Snowmass Mountain. The striking expanse of mountain Daly creates a beautiful background. The initial miles of the track are steady and pass via Aspen meadows and groves. Gradually as the track draws near the Snowmass Creek, you will experience the surroundings and the river starts changing. Traveling through open meadows and woods is a breathtaking experience.
Grizzle lake: This trip starts with a 4WD ride via Lincoln Creek valley along the trail head. This picturesque track takes you next to the Continental Divide upto a deep alpine lake situated at the bottom of 13988 foot Grizzly Peak.
American lake tour: This tour to the American Lake offers the hiking enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the charming Castle Creek valley along the Alpine Lake situated among 12000-13000 foot peaks. The track ascends two thousand feet in three miles. This extremely strenuous hike is certainly well worth the efforts. The lake’s shoreline makes a remarkable picnic place.
Apart from these, other hiking wilderness trails include the Rio grand trail, the lost man loop and the maroon lake.
